Most varieties on the supermarket shelves are the bottom of the barrel: low-quality bags containing tea dust - the tiny leaf particles that break off when tea leaves are processed. Also consider where those teas come from, the overuse of pesticides and chemicals in growing them, and the working conditions of those who harvest them. Loose leaf tea and tisanes are not over-processed, and they impart much more of the plant's health benefits.
