My box from Shade Tree Cottage arrived yesterday. I had wanted some rose-scented things for my youngest daughter, who is leaving soon to spend a year in Florida. Rose is her favorite scent. And Carla just happens to have this wonderful rose-scented line: Promised Rose soap, mineral bath salts, and botanical milk bath. I have been on pins and needles waiting for it to arrive.

My sister was with me when I opened it, and she kept saying about the Promised Rose that she normally didn't like rose scent because it was so overpowering, but this was the most beautiful rose scent she had ever smelled. She has never used rose scent before in her entire life, but this she would use in a heartbeat. I happen to know that most bath and beauty products that are rose-scented achieve that scent by using inexpensive fragrance oils, which are synthetic chemicals which mimic the rose scent. But Carla uses organic essential oils to scent her products. That means real rose oil distilled from rose petals, which is outrageously expensive, but it gives that fresh-cut rose scent that my sister immediately commented on, instead of that overpowering cloying rose-mimic scent.

…. I can't describe how beautiful the bath salts and milk bath are, with rose petals and little rosebuds mixed in with the salts. And do I see a starfish in there? I do! The roses are not just an afterthought, either; fully half the jar is rose petals, if not more.

… There was some Shade Tree soap in the box, too, along with other goodies, which I used to wash with. Oh, it was heavenly! I have only used supermarket soap my whole life, until I received a Christmas gift bag of handmade soap from another soap company. I loved that soap, but had to stop using it, because I broke out from it. I had a horrible allergic reaction, and my lymph glands clogged up, and started swelling! First time since my detox! When I stopped using the soap, my lymph glands cleared up again, so I think there was something in there my body was reacting to like a toxin….I am happy to report no reaction to Carla's soap! My skin is soooo soft this morning. I used the bar to wash my hair with, too.

When I received my box from the Shade Tree Cottage, I was so excited! Carla had promised me a surprise package and I was anxious to see what she had packed. Opening the box was a surprise, indeed. I didn’t expect to have scents fill my kitchen the moment I opened it! My husband came out, saying, “What IS that?” The packaging is delightful – earth toned paper bags to hold the soaps and then paper wrapped themselves. There is no plastic. The paper-wrapped soaps also have lovely ribbons around them. It is a shame to even open them! Upon opening one of the soaps, I was delighted to smell the earthy tones; the feel of this soap is delightful, as well. My hands (and body) felt clean without the normal residue that I usually have with even the liquid soft soaps. I will continue to use these soaps – they are wonderful! The bath salts are in beautiful glass jars with cute little wooden scoops, accompanied by small cloth bags to hold the salts in. This keeps the lovely flower parts inside and not floating in the tub. I hung a bag of salts under the running bath faucet and it filled the bathroom with heavenly scents; this scent filled the tub and gave me a very relaxing, sweet smelling bath. Hmm, looks like I’ve used the word “delightful” a great many times – but I really couldn’t use it too much. “Delightful” describes the whole experience. Thanks, again, Carla!!!

I just wanted to drop you a note that I have been thoroughly enjoyin' my Shade Tree products for over a week now. I have never before experienced the cleanliness I've felt since using the Balance bar soap. The scent, the lather and the smooth feeling of my skin after a shower is nothing short of fabulous. I don't have the "coated" feel that I have after showering with my usual soap. The bath salts as well as the bath tea are luxury itself! The care you take in creating your products is undeniable, thank you!

Just wanted to let you know how pleased I am with your service and products. I did received the order and am so happy with the soaps I ordered (and my fun extra goodies - thanks!). My family has enjoyed using them. I was also impressed with the packaging - very attractive!

When I first received my Shade Tree Cottage products I was so excited! I opened the box and was pleased to see the items I ordered plus some"extra" things that were sent as well. I unwrapped the bath salts first and was so excited! Not only was in in the cutest glass jar but it came with everything necessary to use it in the bath, like the scooper and muslin bag. I opened the jar and the smell was so fresh! It was so pretty to look at as well and along with the salt was bits of dried flowers and a small starfish! How cute! I was equally happy when I opened the milk bath and found the frosted container also with everything I need to use it in the bath. I opened it and knew immediately by the look and smell that I would be taking a bath soon! The smell was so calming I could only imagine what it would be like when I finally got to use it in the bath tub. Then, there was the soap! I have yet to open it because it is packaged so pretty I just want to display it in my bathroom. The soap is wrapped in brown paper that has a palm tree design, the soap is on a wooden soap holder and it is all tied together with a thick burlap ribbon. I promptly cleared a shelf in my bathroom and now all those things are sitting there, not only looking pretty but waiting to be used again. I have since had a chance to use the bath salts and milk bath and let me just say that they are not just good looking products, but work well too! My skin feels so soft and smells great. The aroma isn't overwhelming and is just strong enough to be calming (I bought the calming products but I'm sure the invigorating ones have a different effect). I can't wait to use the facial steam bags later tonight and will be anxiously awaiting the new products that are coming soon at Shade Tree Cottage!

I wanted to send in Coco's Simply Clean soap review.
Coco is a spoiled rotten little Yorkie Pup. I tend to spoil ALL my beloved animals. I'm just an animal person and love to let them know they are loved.

I was always one who thought that soap was soap. Not any more. I bought two bars of your soap, and the bath tea and a facial steam pack, and I am amazed at the difference in my skin. I usually get dry skin in the winter, but my skin has stayed very nice all season. You also sent me a pack of extras… you don’t find that in the world today, Carla. You have a lifelong customer in me!

I want to tell you that my skin has incredibly improved since I've started using your soaps exclusively.   I can't remember my face being this clear since before puberty, and I just turned 40!!  Each day, I pass by the mirror expecting to see a blemish, and I turn my face up and down, side to side, doing a a complete inspection...only to shake my head in amazement, LOL.   I love the idea that I'm using all natural products on my skin (and not spending a fortune doing it!)    I was using the Patchouli soap and it was very nice (love the smell) but have switched to the Natural Comfort.  That seems to really be working...
